It's been a little over a month since Trion Worlds has graced our lives with their cross-media beauty Defiance. There has been a galore of patches. It does my heart good to see the constant updates and fixes they've consistently added. First, it shows that they're giving this game their all and constantly trying to think of new ways to tie it into the TV series. Even better, they've announced the first of five DLC packs that are going to be released within the year.
So what's been going on so far?
A lot. They've been pumping out small fixes almost every day. Including moderately big fixes once a week or so. The point is, they're doing everything they can to keep the game up to date. Amongst all of that, they're keeping the show and the game together. So far, they've been doing it quite well actually. They have much more down the pipes that they keep hinting at as well.
They've had two big patches that have added things to the game as well as fixed a lot of bugs. While the launch was not the smoothest, it was far from the worst. They fixed a majority of the bugs that were in the launch and the episodic missions have also been great. Even the simplest of things, such as setting a lantern on fire and letting it fly away, are fun to do because they have something to do with the TV show that you were just watching.

What else would we like to see in future DLC packs?
More races! There are seven Votan races and right now you can play as an Irathient and soon to be, Castithan. One of the seven races is evil so we probably won't be able to play as them, but I would love to play as another race. That's one thing I've always loved about MMO's. Everyone doesn't have to be human or look like everyone else.
New maps. Right now there's San Francisco and the Bay Area, but the show takes place in St. Louis. Let's get some sort of cross over that way. I would love to have St. Louis to turn into the "Stormwind" of Defiance. Make it a central hub and to get there you take a plane or hop on a bus and it takes you there. This would solve quick travel as well as making it look like you're actually leaving to go to another city half way across the United States.
Keep the content coming! The constant content from the TV series is great. This needs to keep coming and keep getting better and better. I would love to see come content come into the game that has nothing to do with the TV show. Since they're on separate sides of the US, there doesn't have to be a tie in from one to the other. It can start doing things on it's own and not have to have anything to do with the TV series.
