So who's that guy above? I don't recall seeing him in Far Cry 3, yet he does have some significance. Well guess what, that's what the original idea for Vaas was. A mini-boss called Bull that wasn't necessarily insane or had this crazy personality. He was just an abnormally huge tough guy with tribal tattoos. Of course he had to have tribal tattoos, it wouldn't be right otherwise.
IGN got the chance to speak with executive producer Dan Hay at Ubisoft and learned a lot about the origin of Vaas. They really didn't quite get it right until the actor Michael Mando whom Vaas is built to resemble came on board.
“We knew what we wanted Vaas to be,” explains Hay. “We knew that we wanted it to be emotive. We knew that we wanted this character to be physical and to be…charming? Hard to look at. Almost like the sun. It’s impressive, but you can’t stare at it.”
